As a private swimming coach, my approach is centered on creating a supportive, engaging, and tailored learning environment for each swimmer. Teaching Techniques and Methodology:

Assessment and Goal Setting: The first step in my coaching process involves a thorough assessment of the swimmer’s current skills and discussing their goals. This helps in creating a customized training plan.

Individualized Training Programs: I design tailored programs focusing on stroke technique, strength, conditioning, and endurance. Each session is adapted to the swimmer’s progress and specific needs.

Drills and Technique Improvement: Emphasis on proper technique through various drills. I break down each stroke into components, focusing on body position, breathing, and efficient movement.

Mental Preparation and Strategy: Beyond physical training, I incorporate mental conditioning and race strategies to enhance performance under competitive conditions.

Feedback and Adjustments: Continuous feedback is provided to swimmers to help them understand and correct their form. I use video analysis for visual feedback when necessary.

Encouragement and Motivation: I believe in positive reinforcement and creating an encouraging environment that keeps swimmers motivated and eager to improve.

Example of a Class Programme:

Session 1: Introduction and Assessment

Warm-Up (10 mins): Light swimming and stretching

Assessment (20 mins): Evaluating current swimming techniques and identifying areas for improvement

Skill Focus (20 mins): Working on fundamental techniques such as body position and breathing

Conditioning (10 mins): Basic endurance drills

Cool Down (10 mins): Easy swimming and stretching, followed by a discussion on progress and next steps


Session 2: Stroke Technique and Drills

Warm-Up (10 mins): Light swimming focusing on the stroke to be practiced

Skill Focus (25 mins): Detailed work on a specific stroke (e.g., freestyle), breaking it down into parts and practicing drills

Endurance (15 mins): Swimming sets focusing on maintaining technique under fatigue

Cool Down (10 mins): Easy swimming and feedback session
