Hi! I’m Taylor, a native American English speaker who has been living and teaching English here in Bogota for the past 3 years. I’ve helped students of all levels gain confidence, improve their fluency, and communicate naturally in real-life situations.
My classes are 100% conversational, with immediate gentle correction, and a brief explanation if needed. This method has been scientifically proven to be 20% more effective than traditional grammar-heavy classes, and it's much less boring!
This is perfect for those of you who want to speak fluently for travel, work, interviews, passing exams, or just to enjoy the language. My method helps you overcome the fear of speaking and be more confident in everyday situations.
We simply talk like friends, about a wide variety of topics that interest you (music, movies, culture, business...), with a heavy emphasis on practical conversation, authentic pronunciation, and friendly correction. When you make a mistake, I quickly correct your and we immediately continue talking. If you have a question, I take a moment to briefly explain. No boring classes or endless textbooks — we learn by having fun and making fast progress.
My style is patient, motivating, and professional: I create a trusting environment where you feel comfortable making mistakes and moving forward without pressure.
A little bit more about me: I grew up in the US, mainly in North Carolina. I went to college for journalism, and after graduating, worked as a journalist for 8 years, before then working as an editor for the US government for 3 years. So I know exactly how to make English sound clear, natural, professional, and can easily spot mistakes.
After working as an editor, I decided to quit my office job and start traveling the world. I traveled around Central and South America first, then I went to Europe and Asia. I lived in the Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia and Thailand for a few years, and started teaching English for the first time in Thailand.
My students in Bogota include many PhDs, engineers, and doctors, and they always tell me: "Speaking with you is easy; it feels natural, like chatting with an American friend."

Taylor es un profesor genial! Tome clases para perfeccionar mi nivel de inglés y presentar el examen TOEFL y obtuve el resultado esperado para mi intercambio.
