Acerca de Omar
My name is Carlos Omar Muñiz Gallardo, I am a native Spanish speaker and I speak English at level C2 Proficiency. I am also fluent in Portuguese. I am a certified ESL teacher originally from Mexico, with nineteen years’ experience. I currently live in Monterrey Mexico and own a small language school with my business partner. I have a Bachelor´s Degree in Teaching English as a Second Language and a Post Graduate Degree in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language (ELE) from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM).
In English I have taught general English, business English, conversation, listening classes etc., and in Spanish I have taught general Spanish and conversation and listening. I have taught at different companies’ premises and private language schools. I have taught Mexican students as well as a number of different nationalities including British, American, Canadian, Argentinian, Brazilian, Ecuadorean, Venezuelan, Israeli, and Spanish.
At the language school that I own myself and my business partner are solely responsible for creating all course content and syllabus design, and we source and develop all course materials.

I am a facilitator, my teaching style is student centered, which means I listen to your specific needs to tailor your program; however, I follow the guidelines provided by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, therefore, there is a set of objectives we need to work through in a systematic manner. During each class, you will have the opportunity to practice the four linguistic skills: Reading, Listening, Writing and Speaking.
My teaching methodology is based on a Lexical Approach, which could be summarized as follows: learning a foreign language should not be limited to learning its grammar ¨rules¨. Grammar competence doesn´t equal communicative competence.
In any natural language, people make use of word partnerships, fixed expressions, routines and phrases or ¨chunks¨ of language (amongst many others) what we want to do, is to transfer this skill into Spanish so you can combine words the way native speakers do and thus, sound more natural and communicate more effectively.

¡Perfecto! Omar is an excellent teacher and is very passionate about what he does. I love his teaching style - he teaches useful local language along with the necessary grammar in a sequence that makes it very easy to learn. He is always punctual and provides excellent teaching materials and provides an amazing online class experience. I highly recommend you work with Omar to learn Spanish effectively and quickly.

Especificaciones
If the student wants to cancel a class, they are responsible to inform the teacher about the cancellation. In order for a class to be considered cancelled, the student needs to give more than 12 hours´ notice. If the student gives less than 12 hours´ notice before the start time of the class, or the student fails to inform the teacher that they will not attend the class that day, this class will be considered a late cancelation and the student will be charged the full amount of the class.
I also offer group classes, the cost is $850 pesos per month per person. The minimum number of people required to open a group class is 5 students. All classes (individual and group) are online.
Note: * The first step is to schedule a virtual information session. During the session, I give you a free assessment test and all the information about the classes in detail. During the session, we can discuss the schedule and what days and times you are available for class. The session takes approximately one hour, is free, and is additional to the free 30 minute class offered by Superprof. During your first month of classes, I discount the free 30 minute class from Superprof, therefore, including the information session, you receive a total of 1 hour and 30 minutes of my time free.
