My name is Javier Bustamante, and I am a Spanish Language and Literature educator originally from Bilbao, Spain.
I hold a degree in Journalism and Information Sciences from the University of the Basque Country (Universidad del País Vasco), where I developed a strong foundation in language, communication, and critical analysis. As a native Spanish speaker trained in Spain, I bring an authentic linguistic and cultural perspective to my teaching.
I have more than 15 years of teaching experience, and I currently teach AP Spanish Language and Culture and AP Spanish Literature and Culture at an international high school. In this role, I help students build advanced proficiency in Spanish while preparing them for success on demanding AP exams.
My academic and professional background also includes specialized training in English-to-Spanish Translation from New York University, as well as College Board-endorsed professional development in AP Spanish Literature and Culture. These experiences allow me to combine deep linguistic knowledge with effective, exam-focused teaching strategies.
I am passionate about helping students gain confidence in their Spanish skills and achieve their academic goals. Whether preparing for AP exams, improving writing and speaking abilities, or exploring Hispanic literature and culture, I provide structured, personalized instruction tailored to each student.

As a Spanish Language and Literature educator with more than 15 years of experience, and as a current teacher of AP Spanish Language and Culture and AP Spanish Literature and Culture at an international high school, I understand the academic expectations students face and how to help them succeed.
Each lesson is tailored to the individual student's needs, goals, and learning style. I combine rigorous academic instruction with practical strategies that help students strengthen their language proficiency, analytical skills, and exam performance.
A typical lesson may include:

- Reading and analysis of literary and non-literary texts
