My name is Mason and I'm a professional English pronunciation teacher and accent coach from California. I live in Madrid, Spain and I specialize in pronunciation and accent reduction. I am a CELTA certified teacher through Cambridge University, with over seven years of professional English teaching experience. I have taught everything from grammar and exam preparation to conversation fluency and writing, but my specialty is pronunciation. I've helped students from all over the world reduce their accents significantly and I'm very familiar with the various problems that each language brings. I look forward to meeting you!

I teach American English Pronunciation/ Accent Reduction to intermediate and advanced level grammar students. My classes start with a PDF and audio file that I will send you before class begins. Each class will be based on the aforementioned PDF and audio file. My classes are very focused and structured so be prepared to jump into the fundamentals of American English Pronunciation. In my class you will learn proven techniques to reduce your accent. We will start with the vowels- monophthongs and diphthongs, and the I.P.A- International Phonetic Alphabet. I will break it down into easy and understandable language. We will study mouth, lip and tongue positioning, as well as other techniques in order to achieve those often difficult vowel sounds. We will then move on to reductions, syllable stress, word stress and intonation, linking, pitch, connected speech, linking, fricatives, consonant clusters, schwa, the stop consonants-stopT&D/B&P/G&K, the flapT and more. My style of teaching is very focused and structured so that you get the most out of every class. You will learn very specific techniques to achieve serious results. This class is for students who are serious about reducing their accent and committed to learning pronunciation the correct way. My students get results quickly because we don't waste any time taking a deep dive into proven techniques that work. This class can also be modified and changed to adapt to the needs of the student.
