He has been an amazing teacher for my son, who was 8 at the time, for 2 years. Thanks to him, my son loved music. Nobody believed that my son could play the Clarinet. Because he’s a bit of a difficult kid. He is not like other children. If you want to teach him something, you will have to explain and show him everything clearly. For this, you have to be patient and teach everything step by step. Abby has succeeded in this, even though face-to-face classes have started to be held online due to the Covid 19 pandemic.

If we hadn’t met Abby, we probably would never have learned how high my son’s musical potential is. Abby unleashed this potential as a good and loving teacher. I am grateful to him. He turned my son, who could not blow a candle or even a balloon, into a musician at a young age.

Abby worked in “Baris Icin Muzik” (El Sistema Turkey) in Istanbul as a clarinet teacher and woodwind-section trainer. She did an outstanding job with both beginners and advanced students and her results are still visible in the current careers of her former beneficiaries. As a teacher she was always an example for the whole team and always went beyond expectations with her creativity and huge adaptation capacity. It is important to mention that she had no training nor language/cultural-difference preparation before her first lessons and she was committed until her last lesson. During the pandemic she prepared special lessons that took place online and this was a period in which one of her junior students got into the conservatory thanks to her. She did not limit herself with just giving music lessons, she was helpful in any possible way and created a family sense with her whole class and the rest of the orchestra.
